As they were leaving to return to General Villegas, Noelia called me over to the bus window for a parting handshake. Noelia is an 11 year old girl who joined the Churh 2 months ago, along with her parents and some of her siblings.
When Noelia learned that the Mission President and his wife were coming to General Villegas for a visit several weeks ago, she made a special postre (dessert) for us that she had learned how to make at her school. It was made with "ladyfinger" cookies, chocolate and vanilla pudding, whipped cream, and bananas. It was delicious!
I have formed a special bond with Noelia, and I secretly want to adopt her, because she reminds me so much of my dear, grown up daughter, Sara. However, Noelia is a beloved child among her parents' 8 beloved children, and I love to see them all together as one big, happy family in the Church! (By the way, you can see Noelia's grandmother behind her through the window. Her grandmother and I have formed a special bond with each other too, because we're both "abuelas". She has me beat in numbers and experience though, because she has 28 grandchildren, and I have only 7. Noelia's grandmother is going to be baptized into the Church this coming week!)
It brings us great joy to see the growth and the activity of the Church in General Villegas!

President and Sister Benton,
I served in the Buenos Aires West Mission from 1995 to 1997, and I just wanted to drop you a quick note to let you know how much I LOVE your blog! Thank you so much for posting pictures of my dear Argentina.
Your experiences and comments bring to mind all the amazing and powerful and beautiful experiences I had as a full-time missionary, so THANK YOU!
Yours sincerely,
