Remember the 8 year old twin girls I posted about when we first arrived in Argentina? The twins, Megan and Marilee (in the above photo) reminded me of our 8 year old grandaughters, Hannah and Chloe, and I missed Hannah and Chloe alot when I met these cute twins here in Argentina.
Well, a few miracles have happened in our lives since I posted the blog about the twins. Both Hannah (in the photo with the lemons) and Chloe have been able to visit us here in Argentina since I met Megan and Marilee!
When Hannah visited us several weeks ago, we attended a ward in our Mission, and, surprise!
Megan and Marilee were in Hannah´s primary class at that ward! I was able to attend Primary class with all of them, and to be Hannah´s interpreter for Spanish in that Primary class. (Yes, I missed the "photo op" to get a photo of them all together, so I hope you can imagine them all standing next to each other, dressed in their dresses for Church, Hannah in her beautiful white baptism day dress.)
In the Primary class, Megan and Marilee got on each side of Hannah and talked incessantly to her in Spanish. Hannah couldn´t understand a word they were saying, so she just sat calmly and listened, with a smile on her face. When Hannah didn´t answer a question they were asking her, Megan and Marilee both turned to me at once and said, with a surprised look on their faces, "Ella no entiende?", which means, "She doesn´t understand?" I told them "no", and that is when
I started interpreting for Hannah. It was so much fun to see these three darling girls together, and I considered it a miracle that they were all together with me, at Church, on that Sunday, in Buenos Aires Argentina!
In addition to the miracle of Hannah´s visit to Argentina, Hannah created a "mini-miracle" for us one day while she was visiting us in Argentina. Hannah decided that she wanted to make fresh lemonade for us all, so she asked me and her Mom to walk with her to the fresh fruit and vegetable stand a few blocks away from the house, so she could purchase some fresh lemons to make the lemonade. She borrowed a basket from the Mission Home to carry the lemons in, and off we went.
I snapped the above photo of Hannah right after she had purchased the lemons. The lemonade she made for us that day was absolutely delicious!
It was a miracle that Hannah and her family could visit us here in Buenos Aires, a miracle that Hannah met Megan and Marilee, and a miracle that Hannah could make her fresh lemonade for us here in Argentina!
Of course, my heart is full of thanksgiving to the Lord, for all the miracles in my life, and in the lives of others. How fortunate we all are to have a loving Heavenly Father, who blesses us all with miracles, both small and large, on a regular basis.

To Sister Offen, who had a question on my Feb. 6 entry about how to make the pictures stick on Testimony Gloves.
The pictures are attached to the gloves with velcro tabs. However, the bottom part does come off when
you pull the pictures.
We decided to leave the pictures where they are and not pull on them, and just hold up a finger when we talked about the picture, and then add another and another, until you have five fingers showing.
Maybe it would work to glue the bottom tab on with craft glue?
I´m going to post more photos today of how we used the gloves in our zone conferences, after I finish writing the story about "Hannah, the Lemons, and the Argentine Twins".
Good luck with your project. The gloves sure brought smiles to the faces of our missionaries!
Hermana Benton
Hermana Benton-
I'm so happy to read your blog. It makes me ache for the mission! What a blessing it is to be a missionary! I miss it so much! I also just wanted to compliment you and tell you how excited I am for you that you were able to translate for your granddaughter! Did you ever imagine a year ago that by this time you'd be able to not only speak Spanish, but be able to translate! Your hard work is paying off and the Lord is blessing you! I hope you and President Benton and the mission are doing well! Thanks for keeping us updated!
Love, Hermana Kaley Shoaf
Happy birthday, Cheryl. It sounds as if you're having a wonderful time. Keep up the good work, both of you. We're proud of you. Noreen
