We have been assigned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to serve as "Mission President and Companion" in the Buenes Aires, Argentina West Mission, from July 1, 2008, to July, 2011.
The boundaries of our assigned Mission in Argentina will begin on the west side of the city of Buenos Aires, and extend over 300 miles of the "campo"(countryside) West of the city of Buenos Aires.
During the three years we will be working in Argentina, our assignment will include teaching, training, and caring for a great number of valiant young men and women from North, South, and Central America, who will be serving as missionaries in the Argentina Buenos Aires West Mission.
We will also be working with local Church leaders, to lead, teach and train Church members.
We are happy and excited about this opportunity to serve the Lord in this capacity.
We truly appreciate the love, support and prayers of our family and friends. We express our love to you all.
Thank you for the special blog post. I was so excited to see a picture of our Elder, a picture of Mom, and my name on your blog. Your sweet posts of your departing missionaries, new friends, and cute sisters made us teary and so excited for Elder Thomson's work and the last 6 months of his mission. I would have commented sooner, but I could not find the address to your blog again. Thank you for your service and for the love that you show to all of the missionaries, especially our Kurt. I'll make sure to add your blog as a link on mine, so I will not forget it. I loved the picture with you "clapping doors" in your white running shoes and dress.
Please tell Braden that we wish him a happy happy birthday. I don't know if it possible but we have a birthday video message for him one our blog. If you see him and he can look at it will you please show it to him, if not we understand. Thanks!! Our blog is jaimejolleystephens.blogspot.com
Thanks for the extremely nice message Raquel! We're excited for Elder Thomson's last 6 months too! He's such an excellent, strong missionary!
Elder Thomson is on a special assignment today, at the Hospital, assisting an extremely sick missionary. We knew Elder Thomson would be very helpful and competent, so we chose him to do the job. He's great!
To Jaime:
Unfortunately, it's a Mission Rule that missionaries can't look at blogs, but I'll be talking to Elder Stephens today, and I'll let him know that you sent him a video message for his birthday. We know he feels your love and that you were thinking of him on his birthday. We made breakfast for Elder Stephens on his birthday, along with a birthday cake, and one of our Senior Misssionary Couples made him birthday meal, so we know he feels loved all the way around. Thanks for your comments on the blog!
Hola! At this special Thanksgiving time, (we know it is an American hoiday) we would like to express our deep gratitude for all you and President Benton do for your missionaries and especially our daughter. We can't totally imagine the responsibilities and challenges you and your family have to go through, but know you see many blessings and our Heavenly Father is watching over, will guide, and take care of you, your missionaries, and your family. (D&C 100:1) Thanks again. (Gracias!) Take care. All our love, Familia Johns
