Birthday Love, September 11, 2008

It's an amazing thing about the Church that we can move as far as 7000 miles from our home (like we did), and have an instant "support system" of friends who have a great love for you.
On my birthday, lots of love was sent my way from our Spanish teacher Lilly, who gave me the heart-studded mug, from our household helper, Marcia, who made the birthday cake with strawberries on top, to the office missionaries and senior missionaries, who threw a surprise birthday party for me, complete with 3 cakes, ice cream, singing, and balloons!
The party truly was a big surprise to me, because, after a Zone Conference, while my husband was interviewing the sister missionaries, the other missionaries sequestered me in an office and got me working on a big project while several of them filtered into my room asking me for help with their personal dilemmas. Then, after what seemed like 2 hours of this, they asked me to come to the eating area because my husband needed to talk to me there. When I walked into the room, the missionaries and senior couples were all there and yelled "Surprise!" What a great blessing to have so many loving people in my life after only being in Argentina 2 months!
My birthday was made complete with emails from friends in the U.S., calls from some of our missionaries, and calls from my beloved children, grandchildren and Mom, and by spending some special time with my True Love, President Evrett Benton!
Lots of Hugs and Kisses and Thanks go out from me to all the special people in my life, with a very special "Thanks" to my beloved daughter, Sara Henderson, for the "Happy Birthday" she sent me on her blog!
