Our first baptism day

This photo was taken on our first "mission baptism day". There were 40 baptisms throughout the mission that day, and we attended this one, where 5 people were baptized in a small town with dirt roads, where the church building stood out as a shining beacon in the community.

At the baptism, I was sitting next to a little girl who said her name was "Elena" and that she was 7 years old, all in "Castellano". I told her in "Castellano" that I have two grandaughters (nietas) who are 7 years old. Then, she pointed proudly to the man who was doing the baptizing, and said it was her "padre", and that he was the "Obispo" (Bishop ) of the Ward. It was fun to see a little daughter so proud of her dad, and she reminded me of Chloe and Hannah.
Also, the "abuela" (grandmother) who was baptized that day had that light, translucent look of a very spiritual, loving, elderly person, and she hugged and kissed me alot after her baptism, which I thought was very special.
